Hey, filed your taxes yet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t worry, most of us non-business owners still have until April 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But while you\u2019re digging out old receipts for that juicy 2025 tax relief, don\u2019t forget about 2026\u2019s tax relief too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back during the Budget 2026 announcement, additional tax benefits for domestic tourism were announced in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And with all the headaches about international travel recently, perhaps it\u2019s time to take advantage of those rebates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the Tourism Tax Incentives for Budget 2026?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Quoting from the official tax measures document:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To further stimulate domestic tourism activity in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, it is proposed individual income tax relief be given up to RM1,000 for expenses on entrance fee as follows:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

i. tourist attractions such as museums, theme parks, national parks, marine parks,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

zoos and geoparks; and<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ii. cultural and art programs<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So basically, for assessment year 2026, you can claim up to RM1,000 in domestic tourism on entrance fees to domestic tourist attractions (museums and parks) as well as cultural and art programs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay, great, but where to start?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give you some inspiration, here are four ways to rack up that sweet tax relief:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theme Parks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Theme parks are always pricey propositions whether local or overseas. But if you\u2019re already forking out the ringgit, you might as well get some tax rebates right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
