Long-suffering travellers to KLIA might soon have a welcome little reprieve come July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transport Minister Anthony Loke has recently announced that the KLIA Aerotrain will finally reopen as soon as July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First introduced in 1998, the KLIA Aerotrain once ferried a maximum of 200+ passengers per trip between the Main Terminal Building and Satellite Building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the service was suspended due to a major breakdown in 2023. Originally slated for a July 2024 reopening, safety tests have delayed it until 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, the current 15-minute shuttle bus service between terminals is planned to be retained for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to the 2-minute Aerotrain ride though (and being able to skip the gauntlet of stairs and escalators), it\u2019s almost a no-brainer which choice travellers will choose come July 1!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other train-related news, the Kuala Lumpur \u2013 Bangkok train route looks set to be revived as soon as this year<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
