It’s that time of year again – Ramadan!
The month of fasting has returned, and so has the respected Malaysian institution – the bazaar!
But rather than enjoying iftar with the same old faces and the same old food at your local bazaar, how about trying somewhere new?
But the traffic jams and parking…I hear you say. No worries, just take the MRT or LRT!
Why reserve trains for work when you can enjoy some delish Ramadan cuisine from all over the Klang Valley without the (awful kind of) jams!
Bazaars Near MRT Stations
MRT TTDI
First up on our iftar journey is out west in PJ, specifically Taman Tun Dr Ismail or TTDI for short.
Packed onto the outer lane of Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 2, this bazaar features fast-breaking fare like classic murtabak and modern cheeseburgers – all just 10 minutes away from via MRT TTDI!
If you’re not really into the choices, the surrounding shoplots also offer a diverse buffet of restaurants for you to choose from, ranging from affordable mamak to pricey yakiniku joints.

MRT Bukit Bintang / Monorail Bukit Bintang
Want a side dish of hustle and bustle alongside some glitz and glamour dessert? Then go for the Bukit Bintang Ramadan bazaar.
Sprawling outwards from the famous Bukit Bintang intersection, various side streets play host to rows of blue-tarped DBKL stalls selling everything from piping hot satay to cool air bandung.
Once you’re done with iftar, take some time to walk around KL’s most atas shopping malls and shopping spots.
And if you can’t ride the MRT, the Monorail’s fine too!

MRT Sungai Besi
For bazaar explorers of the adventurous persuasion, how about embarking on a little expedition down to Sungai Besi?
Compared to the cramped Bukit Bintang or TTDI bazaars, Sungai Besi features wide spaces between stalls, though they still get packed during evenings.
Offering sauce-drenched kambing lamb or giant woks of char kuey teow, it’s a lifeline for locals living out in this distant arm of KL while being a worthwhile visit for outstation folk!

Bazaars Near LRT Stations
Kampung Baru LRT
Down in this slice of kampung life in the middle of KL, the Kampung Baru bazaar still serves its residents faithfully with yummy Ramadan goodies.
Located between two distinctly red buildings, the market boasts everything from fried noodles to even fried stingray (ikan pari bakar).
And, being in a Malay neighbourhood, there are plenty of convenient mosques to choose from for evening prayers!

LRT Dato’ Keramat
Next to Kampung Baru, Kampung Datuk Keramat is also another Malay district that houses a Ramadan bazaar of its own, albeit one with more of a suburban feel.
Located right in front of the SK Datok Keramat school, it features a long row of stalls selling asam laksa, burgers and desserts for both KL and Ampang folk.
The best part? It’s just right outside the station once you exit!

LRT Wangsa Maju
Way up northeast Klang Valley, sandwiched between the area’s decades-old flats and the elevated LRT tracks, is the Wangsa Maju bazaar.
With the bazaar taking up the entire stretch of Jalan 3/27a, it’s almost impossible not to find your iftar fix here, whether it be fried chicken or some asam boi plum drinks to wash it all down.
And if you’ve still got some shopping to get done, there’s also Aeon Mall Wangsa Maju waiting right around the corner! However, those looking for preloved goods should look to Amcorp Mall or bundle stores instead.
